Bike nights - on or not

Postby bazzer sheene » Fri Apr 09, 2010 4:57 pm

Have Tuesday night bike nights been scrapped? If so is it possible to run them during school hols at least - if this doesn't get enough people there then fair enough.

It's something we are discussing at the moment.

We gave it a real good go last year and stuck with it for the entire year but it still wasn't well supported and that night more than any caused us more problems with noise than any other event. The problem is that the pit bike noise seems to travel further at night so despite all the trackside reading being low and the reading in the village being below our limit we still had complaints from the council.

I think if it has any chance of running through the summer, which I think is an excellent idea, it may have to be on a Mini moto basis only with no pit bikes.

Pit bikes are fine during any other time (weekdays and weekends) but the lack of ambient noise makes them seem louder in the evenings.

Are there still enough local mini moto riders out there to make it worthwhile starting up over the summer?????

Nick,

thanks for the reply i understand the problems with noise, from my point of view when I come with my son it costs £50 for the two of us and without the evenings we dont get enough tracktime to justify the cost. Good luck for the Summer.

I was there on my pit bike last year, in the evenings on Tuesdays, which was the only time I could make it to the circuit. It seems a shame that the council are complaining. After all what have they got to complain about? there is an agreed limit and it has not been transgressed. The organisers have fought to keep the circuit running, don't let fear of the council complaining even though they have got their way, and apathy stop our sport. :(
